CONGRATULATIONS to Alannah Taylor on being selected in the Victorian state development side to play New South Wales at Dandenong Bowls Club on August 8 and 9.

Racecourse Bowls Club is very proud of the progress Alannah has made in her bowls.

We held a very success Renney Family Triples on Sunday with the winners coming from Murray Downs: Peter and Teresa Furnell and Darryl Barry with a good score of three wins and 80 points.

Runner-up with 76 points was David Jonkers, Glenn McIntosh and Max Parsons (Lake Boga), and in third place on 70 points was Raymond and Rosa Armstrong (Moulamein) and Noel Hender (Lake Boga).

Jackpot bowls on Wednesday was won by Mick Tempini (Lake Boga), Graeme Bennett and Bob McIntosh with two wins and +19 shots.

Runner-up with one win and +5 shots was Kylie Gardner and Rob Rust. The jackpot number was -7 which Peter Loughran, Alannah Taylor and Mick Grace had.

On Sunday, Racecourse Bowls Club will be holding social bowls starting at 12.30pm. Names in by 11.30am.

Swan Hill

THERE was a good roll up for Friday Frolic last Friday, with 18 players taking part in this social event.

We were pleased to enjoy the company and competition from visitors attending from other clubs.

Friday Frolic will be on again today at 3pm, all are welcome to attend.

Closing time for entries is 2.30pm. Entry fee is $5, with every winner receiving a prize.

Ring Swan Hill Bowls Club on 5032 1772. Come and enjoy a game in the sunshine.

The jackpot hasn’t been cracked for sometime and is nearing $200. Today could just be your lucky day?

The usual activities take place in the clubhouse after the game, for both bowlers and non-bowlers. A chance to catch up and keep in touch with club members.

Another date to note on your calendar is Swan Hill Bowls RSL Diggers Day, combined with our opening day on Sunday, August 24.

Any Combination Triples will be the order of the day. RSL ceremony at 12.15pm.
