RACECOURSE

JACKPOT bowls on Wednesday was won by Graeme Bennett, Arthur Threadgold and Robyn Roberts, with two wins and plus 22 shots, while the runners up, with one win and plus 14 shots were Mick Tempini, Stuart Tomsett and Jim Wilcox.

On Sunday, August 3, Racecourse Bowls Club are hosting our Autobarn any combination triples event, starting at 12.30pm.

This will be followed by our annual Muston Memorial, any combination triples event on Sunday, August 10, with casual dress and a start time of 12.30pm.

There will be a barbecue starting 11.30am, with beginners and seasoned bowlers all welcome, with a huge raffle to wind up the day, with all proceeds going to the Cancer Foundation.

Sunday, August 17, is our Ash Roberts Homes, any combination triples event, with a 12.30pm start.

Congratulations to Alannah Taylor on being selected to represent Victoria in the Victoria v NSW test on Friday, August 8, and Saturday, August 9, at the Dandenong Bowls Club.

Good luck to Alannah from all the members of the Racecourse Bowls Club.


SWAN HILL

BOWLERS please note that this Friday, August 1, the first Friday in August, will see The Bridge played instead of our regular Friday Frolic.

Be sure to have your entries in by 1pm for the draw to be done and be ready for a 2pm start, with entries to Bill King on 0428 324 083 or by phoning the Swan Hill Bowls Club on 5032 1772.

The Bridge consists of teams of three for this two bowl triples event, with the format being two games of 10 ends.

While you may make a single entry, you are not guaranteed a game, with entries dependent on numbers.

There is a $10 entry fee with good prizemoney on offer and warm casual dress being the order of the day.

The sun is forecast to shine, but a hot snack awaits you in the clubhouse after the game, as well as hot and cold drinks, while the raffles are always fun to take part in to see who can take home a meat tray.

The jackpot will also be drawn and currently sits at almost $200, with all welcome to join in any part of the afternoon.

The Classic on The Murray is being held on Saturday, August 9, and Sunday, August 10, with entries closing at 6.00pm Wednesday.

Another date to keep in mind will be Sunday, August 24, for the Swan Hill Bowls RSL Diggers Day/Opening Day event.

The day will commence with an opening RSL ceremony at 12.15pm, with bowls uniforms to be worn.

The treasurer or bar duty persons will be available to receive your annual membership subscriptions from Friday afternoon.


LAKE BOGA

PELICAN jackpot bowls returns this Saturday, with a jackpot of $540 waiting to be claimed.

Two bowl triples, playing two games of 13 ends, is the format, with single entries only by ringing the club and leaving a message on 3037 2301 and visitors most welcome.

Social bowls this week was won by Les Grey, Amber Moynahan, Ron Atkinson and Terry Haw, with two wins and a score of plus six.

Our Parsons Bulk Haulage any combination fours opening day tournament will be held on Saturday, September 6 with a 12.30pm start.

There is $600 in prize money on offer, with single or team entries accepted, with $10 for a single or $40 a team.

The club was very grateful to receive a grant of $1000 from the sporting club grants programme for better programmes and sporting facilities, with the money to be used to upgrade our umbrellas.
