Italian Social Club celebrates new look

THE Italian Social Club will throw open its doors on Sunday to celebrate the completion of renovation works that have given the venue a major facelift.

Italian Social Club president Nikki Capone said the renovations were a result of a $388,100 State Government grant and a lot of hard work from the community.

“The hall has been updated and now has a very modern aesthetic,” she said.

“We have re-plastered the walls, updated the floors and ceiling and we have also updated the disabled toilets.

“The bar has also undergone renovation, the external roof was replaced and lighting has also been updated.”

Other works include updates to the main entrance and building facade and Mrs Capone invited all community to come along to the opening on Sunday to celebrate.

“We will have acting Mayor Les McPhee present to conduct the official opening and we welcome everyone to come along and tour the upgrades,” she said.

“The hall is very important to the Italian Social Club as it provides Italian families with a place to come together and celebrate culture.

“With the renovations complete, the venue is also open for bookings for events and functions.”

The official opening will take place at 2pm and light refreshments will be available.

The Italian Social Club is located on Yana Street, Swan Hill, within the Ken Harrison Sporting Complex grounds.

Bookings are not required for the opening celebrations.
