Around the churches

Anglican

This morning at 10.30am, the Men’s Coffee Group is meeting at The Specialist School to support their café. All welcome.

On Sunday we have a parish service at the Pioneer Settlement at 11am.

Bishop Matt plans to attend on his crutches, and following the service, we will have lunch or coffee at the Paragon Café.

This is a service with a difference, and everyone is welcome to join us.

We hope many attendees will dress in some pioneer type clothing.

Thank you to everyone who helps with the recycling bottles and cans collection at church.

The proceeds go directly to a school in India.

Education is the best way out of poverty, so every little bit helps.

Also, thank you for continually adding to the groceries basket to support Anglicare families.

These nonperishables are greatly appreciated.

Grain Shed News

Yes, it is that time of year!

We are the pickup and drop-off point for the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox appeal, run by Samaritan Purse.

Last year we sent off 120 shoe boxes.

Let’s see if this year, we can do more.

Every year since 1993, Samaritan’s Purse has collected shoebox gifts filled with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items for children around the world.

More than 232 million children in more than 170 countries and territories have received an Operation Christmas Child shoebox.

The project delivers not only the joy of what, for many kids, is their first gift ever, but also gives them a tangible expression of God’s love.

Collections will close on October 13.

This Friday night our youth meet from 7pm-9pm for an Electives Night.

We truly appreciate the great work of our youth leaders, and our youth who come along every week to connect and learn more about God and of course, the parents who do the running around.

‘Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.’ Ephesians 4:32

Pastor Emily continues on from the Ephesians series in Chapter 5 on Sunday, from 10am.

Our doors are wide open to all whether you’re a regular, local, visiting or are curious to know what happens at the Grain Shed.

Stay after the service for a drink and a chat.

We also have a fantastic Grain Shed kid’s program which runs through school term.

All children from three years through to the end of primary are welcome.

The check-in desk is open from 9.45am.

At The Grain Shed, we believe in the power of connection through community.

Our Gather to Grow groups are created to support and encourage one another.

Join us to explore faith, forge lasting connections, and experience the joy of gathering together.
