Open Gardens raise $7000

THE volunteers at the Swan Hill District Health Op Shop are over the moon with the result of their Open Garden event last weekend, which raised more than $7000.

Committee President Jill Brown said that despite the inclement weather, the group was very pleased with the outcome.

“We really want to thank the population and locals of Swan Hill and surrounds for coming out on such a wild and windy day to enjoy the fabulous gardens, the amazing afternoon tea and for purchasing for their own gardens from the plant stall,” Ms Brown said.

“It was a wonderful effort by all the people on the committee, all our helpers and those that put in to make it a great day. We had a fabulous day.

“Although they are gardeners and their gardens look good all the time, they all put extra effort to make them look even better and open them to the public for the day.”
