Market on the lawns

ROBINVALE’S Country Market is back this Sunday from 11am to 3pm on the Community Centre Lawns.

Locals and visitors can browse a variety of stalls showcasing handcrafted goods, quirky bric-a-brac, clothing, jewellery, candles, soaps, and more.

And for food lovers, everything from Lebanese cuisine to sushi will be on offer, as well as fresh juices, hot coffee, and sizzling kebabs.

Market co-ordinator Rosalie Handrek said the event celebrates local passion and talent.

“There’s something special about buying something local, chatting to the person who made it, and knowing your money is staying right here in the community,” she said.

“And who doesn’t love a good bargain and a great feed?”

Ms Handrek said the market is also welcoming new stallholders.

“If you’ve got something to share or sell, come join us,” she said.

“There’s a small stall fee, but it’s a good way to share your craft, make a little extra money, and get to meet some amazing people.”

In a bid to attract more foot traffic, the market has shifted from its usual spot every second Saturday of the month to Sunday.

“We know Saturdays can get hectic with sports and kids’ activities, so we’re trying Sundays to see if we can get more attendees,” she said.

Ms Handrek said the event is also a great way to raise funds.

“One of our biggest contributors is the Rotary doughnut van,” she said.

“Every dollar we raise goes back into the community.

“This year alone, we’ve raised $26,000, which goes straight to local charities and causes that really need it.”

The Robinvale Country Market offers a family friendly Sunday outing with something for everyone to enjoy.

To register a stall contact Rosalie Handrek on 0438 363 095.

The market is on this Sunday, on the Community Centre Lawns, 11am to 3pm.
