ULTIMA will be celebrating Australia Day at the Ultima Hall on Sunday, January 26.
The event will kick off at noon with a barbecue lunch organised by Lions Club members that attendees can help themselves to, and water and soft-drinks will be on sale.
Ultima Lions Club secretary Athol Ingram said while Ultima usually held a breakfast for Australia Day, he hoped the new afternoon event would be popular with the community.
"People can sleep in on a Sunday for a little bit longer," he said.
"We'll also be in a well conditioned hall, so people don't have to cook or eat in the heat."
Ultima Football Netball Club president and Condely Construction owner Nathan Condely will be the guest speaker.
Gold-coin donations are welcome at the event.
