All photographs are sold for private use and cannot be copied or reproduced for any other purpose in any form without written permission from The Guardian.
When purchasing photos from The Guardian website you must agree to abide by this Usage Agreement, Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
If you want to reproduce any photographs from The Guardian, contact [email protected] to organise copyright clearance. We will need to know how you intend to use the photo. Send an email detailing as much information about the photo/s & usage. Please include the reference number/s and publication details, such as the newspaper date it appeared in, caption and photographer.
Terms & Conditions
Change of Mind or Incorrect choice: Refunds will not be given on any change of mind or incorrect choice in regard to both, image or size selected. The image displayed on the website is what you will receive – what you see is what you get.
Cancellation: Will only be accepted within 2 hours after the order is placed & will incur a $5 cancellation fee.
Sizes: Please note that photo sizes may vary. Sizes quoted are the size of the paper and the image size may not totally fill the whole page because of the photo’s shape. (For example this will happen to photos that are particularly square in shape). The Guardian will not refund for photos that have borders or do not fill the whole page.
Quality & Color: The Guardian will endeavour to provide the best quality image available however some images particularly old images may appear a little grainy or slightly pixilated. Pixilation & graininess may also occur the more an image is enlarged. Refunds are at the discretion of The Guardian management and will only be granted if the pixilation or graininess is strongly noticeable.
Color of images can vary slightly from the newsprint version which may have been altered and cannot be matched. Historical/archived images and Page Prints may be printed with scratches, spots, blurring, or may even be marked or drawn on from previous editorial use. This cannot be cleaned up and will be printed exactly as the file is provided to us. Complaints of damaged photos or other quality issues must be made by sending the image back with full details of your complaint along with all your order details. Complaints must be made within one month from date of order.
