BESTSELLING author Glenna Thomson is set to visit Swan Hill as a part of a 25-location book tour.
Swan Hill Regional Library promises a captivating evening featuring Thomson on Tuesday, March 19, at 7pm.
Her new novel Gone is her first foray into crime fiction, with her previous work dealing with family drama.
Swan Hill regional libraries manager Camille Cullinan said Ms Thomson’s works had earned her a dedicated following within the literary world.
“Author of bestselling novels Blueberry, Stella and Margie and more recently Gone, Glenna writes authentically in a way that resonates with readers from both the city and remote locations,” Ms Cullinan said.
“Thomson’s ability to transport readers into the heart of her stories is truly remarkable, and we are honoured to host her for an engaging author talk.
“The event will provide local book lovers with a rare opportunity to delve into the creative process behind Thomson’s masterpieces.”
After a successful career in overseas aid, and as a senior executive with a global food company, Thomson and her husband spent almost 20 years living and working on their cattle property in rural Victoria.
During that time they also owned and operated a commercial blueberry orchard.
Thomson’s time in the country and the city has enabled her to write authentically about life in both rural and urban environments.
Gone tells the story of the disappearance in 1984 of Rebecca Bundy, an event that shakes her family to the core.
It follows her younger sister’s 40-year search for answers, and is described as a spellbinding narrative that delves deep into the complexities of grief, resilience, and the enduring bonds of family.
