The Dish to screen at Silo Cinema

THE Mallee night sky is the perfect backdrop for the next screening at Quambatook Silo Cinema on Saturday night.

The silos will feature the top-grossing Australian film in 2000, The Dish.

The Dish is an Australian historical comedy-drama that tells the story of the Parkes Observatory’s role in relaying live television of humanity’s first steps on the Moon during the Apollo 11 mission in 1969.

Attendees are encouraged to don 60s gear.

Bring your own chairs and blankets.

Food and drinks will be available onsite, including Lake Meran Brewery with their range of beers, mixed spirits and non-alcoholic beverages.

The movie will screen at sunset, about 8.30pm, at the rear of 26 Guthrie Street.

Tickets are $10 each and available online at www.trybooking.com/events/landing/1339009.

The screenings are a major fundraiser for the town.
