ONE of Victoria’s senior firefighters has issued a warning for awareness on haystack fires following recent late-spring rains.

CFA response numbers showed 66 per cent of the agency’s callouts to that type of job occurred in the west and north-west of the state between June 30 last year and July 1 this year.
