STAFF at Edward River Gardens aged-care home have had their first COVID-19 vaccine dose, and all eligible residents are fully vaccinated.
The Moulamein home has 35 staff and 12 residents.
Under a National Cabinet agreement, all residential aged-care workers had to have their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by mid-September.
Edward River Gardens business administrator Lauren Patten said 70 per cent of staff had had their second dose.
Ms Patten said all workers on placements were also required to be vaccinated.
“We’re in a crucial work environment so our staff are more than happy to get vaccinated,” she said.
Ms Patten said high Murray River Council vaccination rates showed people were willing to get on with their lives.
“They have had to deal with daily interruptions because of the border closures and just want to have the borders open,” she said.
“I’d encourage everyone who hasn’t been vaccinated, and willing and able to, to get vaccinated.”
