Re: Lack of support

Having read your lead
article on Friday 17/8/12 in regards to Mujtabi Hassani, I would like to make an
observation.

Let me say, firstly, that I have the greatest sympathy for
people in his position, having had to leave their country and family behind, and
I presume unprotected, with all the associated stress and trauma that would
entail.

On balance, it would be fair to ask how much support is given to our
own.

The economic climate at this time in Australia is not ideal and in our
major cities there are families who have lost their homes and been forced to
sleep even in doorways, pensioners who cannot afford to keep warm, and others
who struggle to buy enough food.

This and worse is happening today in our
major cities.

If anybody finds it hard to imagine that some people cannot
afford the most basic things, like a bed to sleep in and decent clothing, if
that is such a foreign concept, then perhaps they should get our more.
