Help victims of domestic violence today

The ‘Safe Shelter from Domestic Violence’ campaign aims to raise $3 million to enable local refuge accommodation to be built, to offer shelter to victims of family violence in Swan Hill, Gunnawarra and Buloke local government areas.

BPW Swan Hill is a partner organisation of the ‘Safe Shelter’ campaign.

The incidences of domestic violence in these areas are unacceptably high.

There is inadequate accommodation available locally, so victims often have to be relocated to Mildura or Bendigo, and removed from their social and economic networks.

Thanks to local theatre group

CONGRATULATIONS to the Swan Hill Theatre Group on their production of Mamma Mia!

After several set backs due to COVID, they have delivered a fantastic, heart warming performance.

To all involved, in the words of ABBA:

Thank you for the music,

The joy you’re bringing,

Thanks for all the songs you’re singing,

Who can live without it,

In all honesty, what would life be?

Without a song, or a dance, what are we?

Grab a ticket for a great Town Hall show and enjoy the local talent from 24 to 27 November

Thanks SHTG for bringing it to your community.

NAME AND ADDRESS SUPPLIED.

In praise of Swan Hill youth

DESPITE these uncertain times of COVID restrictions with two years of in-and-out lockdowns, school closures and online learning, Swan Hill VCE students have come up trumps.

During their final examinations, they were patient and cheerful as they waited to be admitted to the hall; were smartly dressed in uniforms; compliant with VCAA rules; and were courteous and worked silently and constantly throughout their alloted time.

We were very proud to supervise such a great cohort of students and wish them well in their future endeavours.

Tony and Jen Waldron, SWAN HILL.
