Heat up, water coming down

Forty four degrees on Monday.

ALL I can say is at least it wasn’t on Saturday for our races. If you were planning a day off, Monday would be a good day to do it. Look after your animals. Chooks love a bit of a puddle to play in. Dogs just love water and of course cats just find the best spot in the house to keep cool. Could be a good time to pay a few bills and catch up on the paper work for me.

Aerial Up

I HAD to go away for a few days so I did not get to see the final bits go on the new Emergency Services aerial. At the time of writing. I have only seen it from a distance. It looks very impressive. I will be up in that paddock mustering tomorrow so I will get a real closeup look at it.

Pennant bowls

DIVISION 1 went out to Lake Boga. Two rinks up, one rink down. Up overall. Division 2-3 managed one rink up. Two rinks down out at Tooleybuc. Down overall. Even with this result. They are in Division 2 for the rest of the year. Division 2 get a bye this week. Because of the races division one play at home to Murray Downs on Friday night. Hope to see you there.

They had an extra teammate at Nyah last week when a six foot brown snake decided that it might try out this great sport and take a crawl across the green.

I think it realised that more bowlers die than any other sportsman and decided that this game was not for it. If we get too many snakes crawling across our greens there could be a few more bowlers die.

Off quota in the Murrumbidgee

IT is great to see that they still do this when there are excess flows coming down our rivers. Unfortunately the Mighty Billabong missed out this time. Bugger. I had all of the pumps fuelled up and greased just in case. They are ready for next time.

Races this weekend

THIS weekend our Moulamein races are running again on December 14. This is always a big weekend for our little town. Spread the word, let’s make this a big one. Plenty of entertainment for the kids as well as the grown-ups. Don’t forget to have a few bucks in your pocket to grab a raffle ticket off our local fire brigade at the gate.

River levels

OUR Edward has levelled off at around 2,600 megs a day and just over 2.3 metres. The Mighty Billabong has continued to flow and will have a good flow for the next month at least. Fishing has been hot and cold depending who you ask. I am back in town this week so I can catch up on what is happening.
