Blues earn finals berth

AFTER a close game played on Saturday against the Mallee Eagles, Kerang have scored themselves a spot in this year’s finals.

Despite taking second place until the last quarter, the team defeated the Eagles by just four points, winning 38-34.

It was a close match all the way through, with the Eagles ahead by only a few goals.

However, after Kerang changed positions around on their team, they were able to score a few more goals.

Kerang coach Nola Wright said her team played very well and gave credit to the opposition.

“The biggest thing was [the Mallee Eagles] goalies… they were just a tower of strength,” she said.

“We lacked a bit of height, but we changed that a bit which strengthened us.”
