KERANG’S pre-season recruiting has well and truly paid off, with the Blues annihilating Tooleybuc-Manangatang by 48 goals, shooting them straight to the top of the ladder.
Saints coach Melanie Wait said that while her young side were definitely competitive, the Blues were “slick” and well put together.
“They were accurate in the goal ring and had strong defensive pressure all the way down the court,” she said.
Blues A Grade playing coach Chloe Adams said the score didn’t accurately reflect the intensity of the match.
“The score blew out at the end, but it definitely didn’t feel like that across the game,” she said. “Tooleybuc-Manangatang had some really solid passages of play.”
The Blues will now be focusing on being able to string together a full four-quarter effort.
“It’s just going to be a matter of building those connections and really fine-tuning them so that we don’t have those lulls, because if we come up against really strong sides, we want to capitalise on those,” Adams said.
