Kerang overpower Raiders in big win

KERANG continued their winning start to the season with an emphatic 25-goal win over Koondrook-Barham on the weekend.

The Blues find themselves in second on the ladder after their fourth consecutive win of the season, with the 52-27 result impressing Kerang co-coach Chloe Adams.

It was an awesome win and we’re so proud of the girls,” Adams said post match.

“A goal for us has been to put the foot down and punish teams when we get out by a few, as that hasn’t been something we’ve done well in the past, so I was so happy to see us do that on Saturday.

“We started being a bit smarter and more controlled with our ball use in attack in the third quarter, which allowed us to convert consistently with not only our centre passes but also our gained ball.”

“It wasn’t the result we wanted, but the game was fought out from both teams,” said Koondrook-Barham co-coach Emma Peacock.

“Unfortunately Kerang ran out a very good four quarters and capitalised on all our mistakes and it’s very hard to outbound on both ends.”

Midcourters Lily Wise and Madison Hall were the better players for Kerang, with Sarah Lahy and Larney Allan the best for the Raiders.

FINAL WHISTLE

KOONDROOK-BARHAM 27
KERANG 52
