Central Murray Netball – The Run Home

1st – Mallee Eagles

Played – 12, Wins – 12, Losses – 0, Points – 48, Percentage – 150.46

Round 14 – Bye

Round 15 – v Swan Hill @ Home

Round 16 – v Cohuna Kangas @ Away

Round 17 – v Balranald @ Home

Round 18 – v Tyntynder @ Away

NEED to win just two of their final four games to lock away top spot and guarantee themselves a spot in the preliminary final at worst. Face games against Swan Hill, Cohuna and Balranald after the bye, with all three clubs fighting for their spot in this year’s finals series.

2nd – Kerang

Played – 12, Wins – 9, Losses – 3, Points – 36, Percentage – 129.44

Round 14 – v Swan Hill @ Away

Round 15 – v Tooleybuc-Manangatang @ Home

Round 16 – Bye

Round 17 – v Cohuna Kangas @ Home

Round 18 – v Balranald @ Away

THREE consecutive losses have seen Kerang undo all their hard work early in the season. Instead of battling with the Eagles for top spot, the Blues now find themselves battling to remain in the top three and earn a second chance, with Koondrook-Barham and Woorinen also sitting on nine wins. Face a challenging run home, including difficult games against Swan Hill and Tooleybuc-Manangatang over the next two weeks.

3rd – Koondrook-Barham

Played – 12, Wins – 9, Losses – 3, Points – 36, Percentage – 124.82

Round 14 – Bye

Round 15 – v NNW United @ Away

Round 16 – v Lake Boga @ Home

Round 17 – v Tooleybuc-Manangatang @ Away

Round 18 – v Swan Hill @ Home

CLIMBED to third for the first time this season on the back of last Saturday’s three-goal win over Kerang. Should drop back to fourth after the bye on Saturday, but if they can win their final four matches, will be a very live shot at earning the double chance. Could come down to their final two matches however.

4th – Woorinen

Played – 12, Wins – 9, Losses – 3, Points – 36, Percentage – 118.95

Round 14 – v NNW United @ Home

Round 15 – v Tyntynder @ Away

Round 16 – Bye

Round 17 – v Lake Boga @ Away

Round 18 – v Tooleybuc-Manangatang @ Home

THE Tigers’ round 18 clash against Tooleybuc-Manangatang looms as the key game for both clubs in the run home, with Woorinen needing to win all four games to climb back into the top four. Will go in as red-hot favourites against NNW United and Tyntynder, before testing battles against Lake Boga and Tooleybuc-Manangatang in the final round. Need just one more win to guarantee a finals berth.

5th – Swan Hill

Played – 12, Wins – 6, Losses – 6, Points – 24, Percentage – 92.73

Round 14 – v Kerang @ Home

Round 15 – v Mallee Eagles @ Away

Round 16 – v Tooleybuc-Manangatang @ Home

Round 17 – Bye

Round 18 – v Koondrook-Barham @ Away

HAVE the toughest run home of any finals contender and will need to beat at least one of the current top three to finish fifth. Their round 16 match against Tooleybuc-Manangatang has the potential to determine both clubs’ finals chances, but depending on other results the Swans could already be behind the eight ball by then.

6th – Tooleybuc-Manangatang

Played – 11, Wins – 5, Losses – 6, Points – 20, Percentage – 100.75

Round 14 – v Lake Boga @ Home

Round 15 – v Kerang @ Away

Round 16 – v Swan Hill @ Away

Round 17 – v Koondrook-Barham @ Home

Round 18 – v Woorinen @ Away

HAVE stormed their way into finals contention on the back of some strong mid-season form, but now face the prospect of defeating some of the Central Murray’s best teams in order to see September action. Their match against the Swans in round 16 is the key game for both clubs, yet they must first take care of a rejuvenated Lake Boga on Saturday.

7th – Balranald

Played – 12, Wins – 4, Losses – 7, Draw – 1, Points – 18, Percentage – 84.38

Round 14 – Bye

Round 15 – v Cohuna Kangas @ Home

Round 16 – v NNW United @ Home

Round 17 – v Mallee Eagles @ Away

Round 18 – v Kerang @ Home

THE Roos’ 48-all draw against Tyntynder in round 4 could well come back to haunt the Roos, who will need to win at least three of their final four games to give themselves a shot at the top five. Face an early elimination final against Cohuna next weekend, before a winnable game against the Demons, but may need to beat one of the Eagles or Blues in order to climb above the Swans and Saints.

8th – Cohuna Kangas

Played – 11, Wins – 4, Losses – 7, Points – 16, Percentage – 95.55

Round 14 – v Tyntynder @ Home

Round 15 – v Balranald @ Away

Round 16 – v Mallee Eagles @ Home

Round 17 – v Kerang @ Away

Round 18 – v Lake Boga @ Home

WITH Tooleybuc-Manangatang and Swan Hill having a challenging run home, the Kangas could find themselves leaping into the top five in the final round if all goes to plan. Must beat Tyntynder on Saturday and Balranald next weekend if they are to be any chance, and an upset victory over either the Eagles or Blues wouldn’t hurt either. Their round 18 match against Lake Boga will be key game.

9th – Lake Boga

Played – 12, Wins – 4, Losses – 8, Points – 16, Percentage – 93.76

Round 14 – v Tooleybuc-Manangatang @ Away

Round 15 – Bye

Round 16 – v Koondrook-Barham @ Away

Round 17 – v Woorinen @ Home

Round 18 – v Cohuna Kangas @ Away

NEED a lot to go their way to keep their season alive, but are mathematically still a chance. Need to win every game, including their round 16 and 17 matches against Koondrook-Barham and Woorinen who will both be battling for third spot. Will definitely shape the finals series, but are unlikely to make it themselves.
