A DELEGATION from the Japanese city of Yamagata and their Swan Hill hosts gathered at the Japanese garden on the riverfront on Sunday to unveil a plaque commemorating the long-standing sister city relationship.

Yamagata City Mayor Takahiro Sato said the Yamagata metal casting was made from copper, which is known to last more than 1000 years, symbolising the enduring friendship between the sister cities.
