SWAN Hill resident Ernie Thompson has unearthed a second monster beetroot from his vegetable garden.

Seven years ago, Mr Thompson was featured in The Guardian for growing a huge red beetroot, weighing 1.4 kilograms.

Last Wednesday, Mr Thompson dug up another enormous, 1.2kg white flesh beet.

"It was supposed to be red, I got the seeds from Bunnings and they've turned out like this," he said.
