THIS year's El Nino weather pattern has led the CFA to issue a warning of a summer that's hotter and drier than in recent years.

The CFA announced the upcoming Fire Danger Period for the Swan Hill municipality would begin at 1am on November 6.

It is one month earlier than last year's FDP, which occurred during a wet La Nina summer and began on December 5.
