FIREFIGHTING from the air above Mallee crops was proven under CFA stalwart Bill Johnstone’s direction, and is perhaps one of his proudest achievements.

Following an extensive 46-year fire service career, Mr Johnstone was recognised for his contribution with an Australian Fire Service Medal in this year’s Australia Day honours.
