NEW Year’s Eve celebrations were set against an amazing sunset backdrop and 9.15pm fireworks over Lake Boga on December 31.

The day lived up to its 36-degree weather prediction and drew both locals and visitors to the popular lake.

More than 1500 people spent the day with family and friends on the banks, while others took the opportunity to cool off with a swim.
