DESPITE the heat, 31 runners, joggers and walkers started the new year on the front foot competing in the 29th edition of the Lake Boga Foreshore parkrun, with some of the competitors making use of the lake to cool off after their 5km journey.

The event had a lot of first time entries, with 11 of the competitors having their first run at the Lake Boga foreshore with them coming from places such as Canberra, Melbourne and the Sunshine C
