POLICE stations in the Mallee won’t be impacted by a decision to reduce dozens of reception counter hours.

Victoria Police will temporarily reduce hours at 43 stations, to divert police to the frontline as it struggles to fill vacancies due to attrition.

No stations in the Mallee were identified, however, a further 20 stations were earmarked for reduced counter hours in the coming months.
