INCUMBENT Swan Hill councillor Stuart King appears to have the confidence of voters, as he prepares to return to the chamber for a second term.

The mayor had gained 1419 first-preference votes after three days of counting in the local council election.

As of Friday, 7161 first-preference votes had been counted, with provisional results expected later this week.
