SWAN Hill has a new mayor after Stuart King was elected unopposed at Tuesday’s mayoral election.

Cr King was first elected to the council in 2020 and held the deputy mayor position in the past 12 months.

Long-time councillor Les McPhee decided not to stand again after six terms as mayor.

Councillors moved a motion to not elect a deputy mayor for the next 12 months.
