Out of the wild: Missing Sam found safe and well - Copy

SAMUEL Thomson, the missing young Melbourne man featured on the front page of Friday's Sunraysia Daily as his father searched for him here, has been found safe and well.

The 19-year-old's dad, David Thomson, visited Mildura this week to ask local people to keep a look out for him, as he believed Samuel may have been traveling along the Murray River, towards South Australia.

His car had been found abandoned near Swan Hill last week and a confirmed sighting had been made at Nyah on Saturday.

Police had held grave fears for Samuel after he left his Lysterfield South home on February 10 to go camping, leaving a “cryptic” note inside the book Into the Wild that he was going off the grid.

Investigators announced on Friday evening Samuel has been found safe and well and thanked the public for their assistance. They did not say where he had been located.
