WHILE Vietnam Veterans’ Swan Hill and District sub-branch secretary Peter Franklin would usually join with other veterans at the Swan Hill Vietnam Memorial, having this year's service in Balranald hit closer to home.

"I come from Moulamein and they've always had close ties with Balranald,” he said.
