THE Victorian Government says its $964 million road maintenance blitz is helping famers in the state's north, with repairs to begin on an important freight connection.

From early month, road rebuilding works will start on the Sunraysia Highway in Lascelles.

Running through until late December, crews will rebuild 1km section of the road.
