AN UPTICK in both fatal and non-fatal drownings in Victoria's inland waterways has led Ambulance Victoria and Life Saving Victoria to urge caution around water this summer.

A total of 19 fatal drownings occurred in the state's inland waterways throughout the last financial year, a 14 per cent rise on the 10-year average according to LSV's 2022-23 drowning report.
