SWAN Hill recorded its highest daily rainfall for June on Wednesday, when evening thunderstorms pushed the tally over the previous record.

The Bureau of Meteorology recorded 34.8mm up to 9am yesterday, with most of the falls recorded in the late afternoon and evening.

The previous highest daily rainfall for the first month of winter was 32.8mm on June 12, 2013.
