A MECHANICAL failure ignited a semi-trailer loaded with tree brush on the Donald-Swan Hill Road near Goschen about 6.30pm on Friday.

CFA District 18 Commander Dean Simmons said the driver was able to save the cab of the truck, pulling over and disconnecting it from the trailer.
