BIRCHIP resident Bernadette Hogan has hit the ground running after being elected the new Mallee Ward councillor for Buloke Shire.

Results of the by-election, released last Friday, revealed Ms Hogan received 417 (38.94 per cent) of first-preference votes and 636 (59.38 per cent) of votes after the distribution of preferences.
