LIFE Saving Victoria (LSV) is pleading with adults to watch around water, with children aged five to 15 at most risk of drowning in January.

It comes after a spate of six fatal drownings since Christmas Day.

Of the 38 children within this age group who have drowned in the past decade, 34 per cent have been within the month of January.
