Drunkenness arrest rates low, say police

SWAN Hill police are expecting no great impact on their duties as Victoria officially decriminalises public intoxication.

Public drunkenness no longer be a criminal offence as the Victorian Government implement a health-led model.

The changes took effect on Melbourne Cup day.
