WHAT started as neighbours chatting over a beer has resulted in plans for an explosive display of colour over Lake Boga on New Year's Eve.

Fireworks will be launched from the concrete jetty at Lake Boga after 9pm, with a safety exclusion zone set up around the firing zone.
