Homebush rodeo gift

AFTER the success of its 2022 rodeo, the Homebush Recreation Club (HRC) decided to give something back to the Balranald community.

HRC made a donation of $10,000 to the Balranald Can Assist Branch – a local charity which helps locals on their cancer journeys.

HRC treasurer Sandy Pippin said this year’s rodeo was only the club’s second, but was very well supported.

“For us it is more about having a social event, having a reason for people in the bush to gather, meet and mingle,” Ms Pippin said.

“We had about 1700 people at this year’s rodeo, which was a bigger crowd than we have had at anything out there really before, and a very well received day and evening.”

The 2023 Homebush Rodeo is all set for April 22 next year.

“We hope our crowd will be bigger again next year and that we will have more riders and more spectators,” Ms Pippin said.
