A SWAN Hill apprentice is "pretty rapt" after being named the Future Builder of the Year for the Bendigo region.

Hamish Robertson beat 125 other competitors for the title and is now entered in the State Apprentice of the Year Awards on May 11.

The qualified builder completed his Certificate III in Building through Murray Mallee Training Company two weeks ago.
