BUILDING better connections with community and combating the high level of regional road trauma and domestic violence, are among priority areas for the Western Region's new Assisting Commissioner, Michael Grainger.

Mr Grainger made a quick stop in Mildura on Monday, as part of an effort to visit all 146 police stations that now fall under his umbrella.
