Uncle Jack Charles mourned

"SWAN Hill was a place where certain Indigenous families lived and worked on local farms and paid their way. Mum was in a good position. I stayed to work on the land but left due to the huge drinking problem there."

Those were the frank recollections of actor, musician and revered Victorian Aboriginal elder Uncle Jack Charles, who was taken from his young Aboriginal mother at just four months of age.
