PEOPLE in the Swan Hill region have been warned to protect themselves against mosquito-borne diseases after two virus infections were detected in nearby local government areas.

Deputy Chief Health Officer Associate Professor Deborah Friedman issued a health advisory this month after recent weather conditions had been favourable for mosquito breeding across the state.
