Church notes

Uniting

This week I had a somewhat different encounter through the modern media of our church Facebook page, where a parent enquired after our church program for children.

This is perhaps not unusual but the follow up story was in that a young child asked his parents if he could go to church even they hadn’t been attending for many years!

God moves in mysterious ways.

Of course our congregation welcomes folk of any and all ages from 9 days to 90 plus years. So it is with hope for the future that the Mallee Rivers Regional Team decided this week to commit to allocating funds for two years at least for the stipend of a part time Intergenerational Minister to assist us in relating and worshipping together across the various generations and for MRRT to continue actively seeking the right person for this role.

As our attendance has not returned yet to pre-Covid levels please pray for fellow members and in these times of rising costs that our offerings may cover all stipend and building costs.

As announced on Sunday, there are now some vacancies on the Swan Hill Church Council so please prayerfully consider standing for a position or asking someone who you consider would be good in that role if you could nominate them. Please don’t let the following occur:- Somebody in the Body said Anybody could do it but Everybody sat on their hands so Nobody did it! Nominees can be voted on by members during our Annual General Meeting after service on Sunday March 19.

Could all office holders please submit annual reports ASAP to our secretary to publish in readiness for the AGM.

Remember that throughout Lent, the Life Studies continue discussions each Wednesday at 10am all are welcome. Reverend Mark will lead the service on March 12, which will include a Baptism and also on Good Friday and Easter Day at 10am.
