Anglican

SATURDAY morning there is the regular boot sale, with all the usual goodies, plus a multi-draw raffle with great toys and two hampers.

The Advent theme this week has been peace, as we continue to prepare to celebrate Christmas. Wednesdays at 5pm have been enlightening, listening to David Suchet reading the Gospel of Mark.

Carols by Candlelight is on Sunday night at Riverside Park, so come along and enjoy an evening of singing and celebrating with our community. Thank you to the organisers.

Festive individualised hampers have been donated to the families supported by St Luke’s Anglicare. Thank you to the many people who donated to give others a better time of celebration.

We sincerely thank Graham Muir, who has been an active member and leader of the men’s shed for many years. Graham worked very hard to source funding and other benefits to make the shed the great resource it is today. Happy retirement, Graham.

Our op shop at Nyah West has served the community well and we sincerely thank Evelyn Mortimer for generously being the coordinator for the past three years. It’s a big commitment.

We also thank all the volunteers for the gift of their time and energy. The community appreciates you.

Recently, the op shop conducted a raffle to raise funds for Nyah District Guides, the men’s shed conducted activities with the school, and our citizenship awards and prizes will be presented at the school presentation night.

The op shop coordinator for 2024 will be Helen Gell, and we wish her well.

Christmas services are now listed on the refreshed website, as well as on the weekly pew sheet and the church door. Ultima had their Christmas service last Friday and it was enjoyed by all.
