Anglican news

What a wonderful service we had last week led by Bishop Matt.

Near the close of the service, Rev. Denis was surprised by a public presentation, led by Warden Ian Newland, acknowledging with deep appreciation Denis’ 48 years of dedicated service to this Parish and Diocese.

In that time, Denis has taken on many roles and responsibilities, in the church and the community, using his considerable skills and quiet demeanour.

Thank you Denis. Enjoy retirement, although of course we will still enjoy your contributions!

Please give generously now to the fund to provide food hampers to the families supported by Anglicare.

This money is used to purchase comparable items and personalise each family’s hamper.

Advent Reflections will begin this evening and tomorrow after church and Nyah West being offered. All details soon.

Grain Shed news

Well, what a wet end to November. What a blessing that the last couple of weekend events held in Swan Hill were not affected by it, however, for our farmers this creates many challenges. There are so many things today that we can be grateful for, praising God, but also, prayers for those in need, healing, comfort, direction.

Unfortunately our Hampers of Hope packing is on hold until the New Year, due to industrial action in Melbourne. As soon as we know when, we will get the word out.

This Sunday, summer begins and it is carnival time here, 10am our Kids Christmas Celebration begins. All, young and old are welcome. After the service, there is a free sausage sizzle, popcorn, face painting, jumping castle and so much more.

Monday, our mainly music program breaks up for 2024. A special thank you to our team, Jess, Rita, Gwen, Lorraine, Glenys, Karen, Helen and Leanne who give so generously and to all the families with their precious children who have joined us throughout the year.

Sunday, December 8, David and Tarryn Price who have worked as missionaries with SIM in Galmi, Niger, will be visiting us.

After the service, a light lunch will be provided for those interested to stay and hear more about their work.

Saturday, December 14, North West Vic Training will be holding a free first aid course at the Grain Shed. If you are interested, please contact alanbox@northwestvictraining.com.au
