Goodnight kidnapping charges laid

TWO people have been extradited from Victoria to New South Wales over an alleged kidnapping in Goodnight in December.

Barrier Police District officers allege that on December 6 a 25-year-old woman was taken from her home against her will by three people.

NSW police said the woman was allegedly dragged into a vehicle, before being dropped off on Coomaroop Road, in Tooleybuc, where she notified police.

A 26-year-old woman was arrested in Swan Hill last year and charged. She remains before the courts.

Following further inquiries, detectives obtained arrest warrants for two men, aged 32 and 54.

Victoria Police officers this week arrested both men in Swan Hill – the 32-year-old man about 8am on Tuesday, and the 54-year-old about 8.40am on Wednesday.

NSW detectives extradited them from Victoria on Wednesday.

The men were transported to Dareton Police Station, charged with aggravated entry to a dwelling with intent, using corporal violence and kidnapping in company with intent to commit a serious indictable offence occasioning actual bodily harm.

The 32-year-old was also charged with wielding a knife in a public place.

They were refused bail to appear at Broken Hill Local Court on Thursday.
