COVID breaches keep rolling in

THROUGHOUT August and September there were more breaches of COVID-19 restrictions in the Swan Hill and Kerang districts.

Around 8.10pm on August 31, police spoke to a 40-year-old Koondrook woman on Hastie Court in Kerang, who did not have a valid reason to be in the area.

On September 2, a 32-year-old man from Greenbank in Queensland was intercepted on the Murray Valley Highway in Robinvale at 6.30pm, with Swan Hill police Senior Constable Travis Collier issuing a notice for the man failing to have a border pass.

Six people were issued with infringement notices after breaking COVID-19 restrictions with a party in Swan Hill on September 9, and Snr-Const Collier reported

Swan Hill police Senior Constable Travis Collier said they were caught at a property on Storer Court in Swan Hill around 1.05am on September 9, without a valid reason for being there.

Between September 7 and September 14, police issued eight notices: four for people not wearing masks; three for not having one of the five reasons to leave home; and one for travelling without a border permit.

Prior to the lifting of restrictions, regional Victorians could only leave home to get food and the supplies, to exercise for up to two hours, to receive care or be a caregiver, for authorised work or education, or to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
