Neighbour dispute

A NOISY dog sparked an argument between neighbours in Lake Boga last week.

Police said the victim told the neighbour’s dog to “shut up” before the neighbour allegedly retaliated with a threat to inflict serious injury.

The incident happened about 5pm on July 13.

“Neighbour discussions should never get out of hand like this,” a police spokesperson said. “Seek proactive assistance.”

Charges were yet to be laid.

A SEA Lake man is seeing red after his daughter’s ex-partner allegedly sold his vehicle after he lent it to him earlier this month.

The man sold the vehicle to a Swan Hill resident without informing the owner or handing over any payment.

Police will interview the man over the alleged theft.

Front gate kicked

POLICE are investigating after a man repeatedly kicked the front gate of a Swan Hill property earlier this week.

The incident happened about 9.30am on July 16 in McCallum Street. The unknown offender was wearing a two-tone hoodie, dark pants and boots.

Pedestrian deaths climb

A SURGE in pedestrian deaths this year has prompted a police warning for all road users to take greater care.

There have been 28 pedestrian deaths since January, with 10 recorded in June alone.

So far this month there have been three pedestrian deaths.

Victoria Police has previously spoken about their concern over the trend, with winter especially high risk because it’s darker earlier and poor weather reduces visibility.

Pedestrian deaths are up in both regional and metropolitan areas.

The five-year average for pedestrian deaths at this time is 19.6.
