Quambatook murder arrest

Detectives from the Homicide Squad have arrested a man this morning as part of their investigation into a body located in Quambatook yesterday.

A 67-year-old Quambatook man was arrested without incident this morning in the Welshmans Reef area.

He will now be interviewed by police.

The arrest follows the discovery of a body in Quambatook on Tuesday.

Emergency services initially responded to a grass fire near Cemetery Road and Knight Road about 6.30am on 21 January.

The body of an unidentified person was located at the site of the fire and the death is being treated as suspicious.

The investigation remains ongoing.
